During the winter of 2024, we entrusted Amico Loano with the refit of our 25-meter classic sailing yacht, expecting the yard’s reputation to speak for itself. Instead, the project turned into a series of disappointments. The joinery work in the main saloon was misaligned, deck fittings were over tightened and cracked, and adhesives stained the original teak. Each time we raised concerns, the supervisors gave us conflicting answers or blamed subcontractors.
Weeks slipped by without any meaningful progress. When we finally collected the vessel, the varnish was still tacky and the new electrical systems repeatedly tripped. We ended up taking the yacht to another yard in La Spezia to correct the mistakes. In the end, this refit cost us twice what it should have and robbed us of valuable sailing time. Proceed with caution when trusting Amico Loano with a classic yacht.
