When we hauled our 35-metre cruiser to Amico Loano for a major systems overhaul, things quickly deteriorated. Electricians left loose wires dangling behind panels, breakers tripped with the slightest load, and new circuits were sloppily spliced into old wiring. The yard’s painters failed to properly prep the hull, leaving cracks and air bubbles in the new gelcoat. Crew left glue fingerprints on teak trim and stripped screws in cabinet hinges. Each week brought more excuses and new charges as the completion date slipped from June to September. With critical systems still unreliable and cracks appearing in the fresh gelcoat, we pulled the boat and went elsewhere to finish the job.
