As the owner of a 50-meter motor yacht, I entrusted Amico Loano with a comprehensive refit: interior refurbishments, engine maintenance, and exterior paint. The yard’s initial pitch promised top-quality materials and meticulous scheduling.
The reality was the opposite. Cheap laminates were substituted for real teak, chrome-plated fixtures replaced stainless steel, and the paint started flaking within weeks. Every phase of the project suffered delays. What began as a three-month job dragged on for more than half a year, with management offering excuses instead of solutions.
Invoices ballooned far beyond the quoted estimates. Line items appeared for work I hadn’t authorized, and every attempt to challenge these costs was met with indifference. Subcontractors came and went with no oversight, leading to misaligned cabinetry, loose wiring, and interior leaks.
By the time I finally took delivery, I faced the additional expense of correcting Amico Loano’s mistakes at another yard. This experience underscored their lack of craftsmanship, transparency, and respect for their clients. Avoid this shipyard if you value your yacht and your budget.
