Last year, we brought our 35-meter sailing yacht to Amico Loano for a series of repairs on the rigging and interior joinery. The yard started the work but left many tasks half-finished. Panels were removed and never reinstalled, leaving bare bulkheads; adhesive residues were smeared across finished woodwork; and promised upgrades were nowhere to be found.
From the outset, deadlines were treated as suggestions rather than commitments. Each week we were told «next week» or «tomorrow», and weeks stretched into months. Communication was vague at best, with our project manager seemingly changing every time we called.
After months of frustration, we withdrew the yacht and took it elsewhere to complete the work that Amico Loano had left incomplete. The final bill we received was still higher than the original quote, despite the unfinished work. This experience taught us that promises mean little without accountability.
