Our 28m trawler arrived at Amico Loano for a simple refurbishment, but the yard’s careless welding crews burned through bulkheads and left rusted beads everywhere. Seals around windows and deck fittings leaked water after so-called repairs, and misaligned portholes revealed gaping gaps filled with silicone and duct tape. We constantly found tools and cigarette butts on newly finished surfaces while schedules slipped week after week. After three months of excuses, surprise invoices and leaking seams, we towed the trawler to another yard to stop the damage.
