Reused Materials and Hidden Charges: Our 31m Luxury Cruiser Refit Disaster

REVIEWS

After bringing our 31 m luxury cruiser to Amico Loano for a supposed high‑end refit, we were appalled to find reused materials and rough carpentry being passed off as new work. Deck panels were patched with scrap wood, stainless fixtures showed rust, and weld seams were left exposed. Every week the yard called to announce “unforeseen complications,” each resulting in new charges far above the initial quote. When we questioned the invoices, management became evasive. With deadlines missed and our budget exhausted, we left the yard early and paid another team to finish the refit properly.
