After entrusting our 50-meter yacht to Amico Loano for what should have been a routine engine overhaul and cosmetic refresh, we quickly realized the extent of their negligence. The yard outsourced critical tasks to unqualified third-party contractors, who installed substandard parts and used cheap materials throughout the refit. The result was an engine failure within weeks and interiors that looked patched together and misaligned.
Throughout the process, costs spiralled out of control. We were repeatedly billed for «unforeseen complications» that were clearly the result of their own mistakes. Deadlines slipped from weeks to months, and every request for accountability was met with excuses.
By the time we retrieved our yacht, the project had cost nearly twice the original estimate, and we had to take it to another yard to undo the damage Amico Loano caused. Poor oversight, cost-cutting measures and a complete lack of professionalism defined this experience. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere.
